Lids and Lipitor

My father is constantly making fun of my mother for not knowing how to properly put lids on things. He says he goes to pick something up and CRASH it drops because the lid wasn't secured properly. He and Brad have a good time laughing about this because apparently I'm just like my Mom.
Well, I had the chance to tease my Dad about not putting lids on. Camille and I were hanging out with Grandma Myrna. Camille was playing with the magnets on the fridge and my Mom and I were in the other room. I went to get Camille to put her down for a nap and she was no longer in the kitchen. We found her in my parent's room carefully dropping my Dad's Lipitor pills back into the bottle. Evidently, my Father failed to put the lid on tightly. (Since no one else takes his pills or touches the bottle.) When I called him to find out how many pills were left (I needed to make sure Millie hadn't eaten any) and told him that obviously the lid hadn't been on otherwise Mil couldn't have been playing with them. He just gave a little embarrassed chuckle.

Side note: We don't believe Camille ate any of the pills however we called poison control just to cover our bases. Poison control was not concerned about the possibility at all, even if she had eaten some she would have been fine.

Addicted

Have you ever seen this?

Brad and I borrowed the first season from my parents and now I'm addicted! My parents have the second season as well...they better hurry with it because we're going to need to it soon!

My lucky day

Camille has been a little cranky this week (perhaps she working on the last of her teeth), I've had less patience this week (perhaps the pregnancy hormones). So, I wasn't looking forward to Friday. I know that's weird. Fridays are great. Brad either has Friday off or he's home at 4:30 pm. Fridays start the weekend...blah, blah, blah. Well, this Friday Brad had overtime which meant he wouldn't be home until about 9:00 pm and he'd have to go to bed at a decent hour because he had to be up by 4:30 am to go to work on Saturday.

Friday turned out better than expected. I had a friend and her baby over, who I hadn't seen for awhile. We had a good afternoon playing Wii and watching the girls have fun. Later, I was on the phone and Camille wandered into my room. I went to see what she was getting into. She had opened the drawer to my nightstand so I went to shut it and tell her it was off limits. Low and behold there was a candy bar in my drawer. Yes a CANDY BAR, a Three Musketeer. (It was from Christmas.) I had totally forgotten that I stuck it in there. I was so excited (again probably the hormones). Friday turned out to be a pretty good day.

Wii think this is pretty cute...

We just purchased a Wii Fit for Brad's birthday, a little early I know, but there was one in stock at Shopko so we thought we'd better get it. Of course, we couldn't wait until February to open it. The last few days we've enjoyed figuring out how it works and charting our progress. Camille really enjoys doing the activities with us. She wants to play too. We've had to get Mil her own "balance board" to play on while we are using ours. (Excuse all the toys in the background...Millie was going back and forth from toys to Wii, toys to Wii.)

Here she is studying exactly how Grandpa is making this work.

One step at a time...

With the new year we're suppose to make steps to be better, healthier, and more organized. I decided that doing too much at once is overwhelming and leads to nothing changing. I'm taking it one step at a time this year. I'm taking little steps to be healthier. Dr. Oz has recommended increasing your intake of omega-3 fats. Some good sources include ground flaxseeds, walnuts, salmon, scallops, soybeans and squash. I love walnuts so...
today I added walnuts to the brownies that I made...that works right?

My little friends

Today I had my little friends, Kurtis (4) and Kylee (2 1/2), over for the afternoon. Kurtis always has something interesting to say.

Me: Your Mom went to the doctor's. They're going to check on the baby.
Kurtis: Is it only going to take a minute?
Me: It's going to take a little while.
Kurtis: What's a little while? Like 2 minutes?

Kurtis: Why is your house made of wood?
Me: What would you make it out of?
Kurtis: Walls

Kurtis was headed into the bathroom, Camille followed so I went to retrieve her. As he is pulling down his pants he says to me. "Don't laugh at me okay." (Of course, that comment just made me want to laugh!)

Later after the bathroom incident while we're making lunch:
Kurtis: When I go diarrhea you don't have to help me. Diarrhea looks like we're peeing out of our bums. I think that says it all...
