A Wise Old Man Once Said...

Throughout my life my father as always given me pertinent advice, such as, "Don't unbutton you belly button or your bum will fall off." So a few weeks ago when he offered some parenting advice I thought it would be wise to listen (after all I figure he knows a thing or thirteen about child rearing). My Dad said people should toss their kids around otherwise they grow up weird. Dad's speciality is the whole rolls, however we found that Camille is fond of the helicopter spin.

Will you be my Valentine?

Time flies!

Camille is now 6 months old. It's hard to believe! Here are some of the lastest pictures!

She's such a happy child!
Why don't we ever have duck for dinner? It's tasty!

Don't wash my clothes, I'm STILL in them!

She's going to be the kid in class that eats paper!

Husband Tag

What is his name? Bradley Dale Wilding

How long have you been married? It’ll be six years this May.

How long did you date? Well our first date was in June of 2001 (after I tried to break up with him a few times) we were engaged in February of 2002 married in May…so almost a year counting the engagement.

How old is he? 27 but not for long!!! (His birthday is right around the corner!)

How old are you? 26

Who eats more sweets? I have far less control when sweets are involved although he can eat more and you’d never know (stupid metabolism)!

Who said I love you first? Here’s the conversation.
Brad said, “Karen, I think I love you.”
Karen replied, “I love you.”
So according to Brad, Karen said I love you first because he said think!

Who is taller? Brad is 6’2.5” and I’m 5’4” you do the math.
Who can sing better? Brad is definitely better and I love it when he sings. Although we both like to sing in the shower.

Who is smarter? Hmmm, it depends on the situation. We had the same ACT score and I had a one point higher GPA in High School but in College he had a bigger academic scholarship (a.k.a. better grades) however, I kick his butt at trivia games because my memory is like a vault! Brad is more logical and rational. If you need to “phone a friend” I’d say me but if you need to phone a friend because your car broke down call Brad.

Who does the laundry? I do, every Thursday and whenever else it needs it.

Who does the dishes? I do, ten times a day. Okay, it just feels that way. How can two people dirty SO many dishes?

Who pays the bills? I am head of economics.

His guilty pleasure: Free stuff…doesn’t matter what it is, if it’s free he needs one (or two or three) and computer parts. I’ve got a room full to prove it.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Brad does. It’s closer to the bathroom, closet, and dresser. (He’s up by 4:30 am for work so he can have it.)

Who mows the lawn? I believe the more appropriate question would be who shovels the snow! That is 95% Brad. When it comes to mowing the weeds, I mean “lawn”, we both do because I LOVE to mow!
Besides you, who is his best friend? Hands down Steven Smith and Lee Anderson, born and raised on the same street destined to die on the same street. They are the three Amigos.

Who cooks dinner? I do. I like to cook and if someone will just tell me what they want to eat it makes it so much easier.

Who drives? Brad usually. I offer when we take long trips but he’s like a driving machine and so I never have too.

Who is more stubborn? Have you met my husband! He has to be right. The annoying thing is that he almost always is right!

Who kissed who first? Here’s a source of argument. Brad kissed me first. Now I’m not denying that I kissed him back, but he started it!

Who asked who out first? Brad asked me out. I’m not one to ask boys out. (My mother told me that is a boy’s job! Girls shouldn’t call boys, etc.)

What was your first date? A fireside that turned out to be a musical thing.

Who proposed? Brad did, he’s a tricky devil. He took me snow machining up to Mesa Falls and suggested that after we go to Idaho Falls to ring shop. (I was very adamant that we would not be engaged until I had the knee, ring, and question. We walked down to the falls in the snow and he got on one knee and proposed, ring and all, in that waterfall wonderland. It was very romantic and unexpected because I didn’t know he had a ring.

Who has more siblings? For some reason I always think Brad has more brothers. He has 4 brothers and 1 sister. I have 4 brothers and 8 sisters. I just seems like I have less brothers because they are so spread out by the sisters.

Who wears the pants? We share the pants, and I like that. He does like to remind me that "I am the PAPA" :) (I never should have let him watch Fiddler on the Roof.)

What is your favorite thing about him? There are so many good things so I’ll just list a few! He really makes me laugh. He is silly and I love that. He’s a great communicator; every marriage needs at least one. He can always get a bargain! He loves to travel with me. He adores kids. He’s my spiritual giant and wants to do what is right!
