Seeds of Turmoil

Seeds of Turmoil
The Biblical Roots of the Inevitable Crisis in the Middle East
by Bryant Wright

I was really excited to get this book from booksneeze.com but I was very disappointed in the book.
I don't know where to start. I had a really really hard time reading this. I disagreed with the author's view and take on Abraham. I'm not saying that Abraham was prefect but I don't think one man's decision (as chapter one is called) is the answer to the problems in the Middle East! Of course, the history of where people come from play into what is happening today. I don't believe the author can say that Abraham was wrong in his decision to have a child with Hagar. That first two chapters left such a bad taste in my mouth that as a continued reading I wasn't very vested and found myself reading and realizing I didn't really pay attention to what I had just read.

I like reading from a history/timeline perspective. I find history very interesting. I liked that he included Jewish/Islamic/Christian perspective but it's important to realize that it's his opinion of their perspectives.I think it's important for the world to understand where people come from. If we can understand each other it will be easier to get along with one other.

Honestly, I didn't like the book.

I received this book complimentary from Thomas Nelson via their Book Sneeze Book Blogger program in exchange for an honest review.
