Did you know that roosters don't just crow at sunrise? They start about 2 hours before sunrise and Cock-a-doodle-doo off and on for HOURS. How do I know this? My neighbors have a rooster, which I usually can only hear when I sleep with the windows open (which is every night because it's still hot!) I've been wondering how difficult of a procedure it would be to remove a voice box from poultry without actually killing that animal. Then I saw a commercial on TV for SilenceyourRooster. com and I thought my prayers have been answered. There's a website, perhaps it has detailed steps on voice box removals or alternatives. Turns out it's a website for AMBIEN CR, the sleep medicine. Well, so much for that. Unless, do you think giving a rooster AMBIEN CR would kill it? :)

Thirty-six...
is how many quarts of pickled beans my Mom helped me can. YUM! (My mouth waters just thinking about them.)

Eating...a strenuous activity
I never thought of eating as boring, tiring, or strenuous. I left Millie to feed herself while I went to the other room for a minute. Poor girl...6:20 pm and pooped! Must of been all the excitement from opening her first birthday present. (Yes, a few days early because we won't see Grandma on her birthday.)

One Fish, Two Fish...
Ron and Donna called us to say they were irrigating the yard and they thought Camille might like to come and play in it with cousin Alli. They were right she liked it.
One thing that surprised us all were the fish. Yes, fish! I saw something moving in the water and upon closer examination I realized it was a fish. I knew when the water was gone they would just die and then we'd have to watch out for fish carcases when we played in the lawn (EW!)
We started Operation Fish Rescue. Brad put some water in the kiddie pool and then we began to capture the fish with our bare hands and deposit them into their new home. Brad was like the fish whisperer, he was getting tons. Sadly, some of them decided to swim belly up after being "rescued", most fared alright. All in all we caught over 20 fish during OFR. I'm not sure what we're going to do with them now but it was great way to spend family home evening.

I love going to King's in Rigby. It's such a fun place to look around. Yesterday, they had some items that were 75% off. I had a hayday. Nothing like getting a bottle of conditioner for $0.25, red pencils for $0.05, or a big Tonka truck for $7.50. Now that's my kind of shopping. (Yes, Camille will be getting the Tonka truck for her birthday or Christmas!)
