My Natalie has been SO excited about her birthday. She had several exceptions as to what the day would hold for her. I think we managed to make her dreams come true.
First, she keep inviting people to her "party". I hadn't really planned on doing a party then enter in 2 weeks of stomach flu at our house and it was definitely out of the question. Instead we invited a bunch of friends to join us at the park for a play-date. (I suggested we bring the cake to share but that was out of the question. "The cake is for after dinner!")
We had a great time at the park. Such a nice day outside.
Natalie LOVES LOVES the movie Frozen and wanted Frozen things for her birthday. (Do you know how difficult they are to find?!) We ordered the DVD to give her. She really really wanted an Elsa dress-up. With the supply and demand issue I decided the only thing to do was to make one. (I'm a poor excuse for a seamstress but with my sister-in-law's help and a few phone calls to my sisters and Mom I was able to make it happen.)
It helps to have friends in a different state. My friend, Cathy, was able to find Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff dolls at her Target. (I checked online daily and made more then one trip to stores in search of these dolls to no avail.)
Of course, the cake had to be a Frozen cake. Natalie said she wanted a blue cake with white snow and Elsa and Anna on top. (Which got amended to just Anna because I could not find an Elsa) Natalie wanted to help put on the "snow" and "snowballs". We had fun decorating her cake together.
When getting her all tucked in for the night she told me what a great day she had. "Best birthday ever!"

Camille has requested an Elsa dress-up for her birthday now too. Looks like I've got four months to make it happen again.
