Playing Doctor

Last Monday was day number 5 of Natalie's staples. The doctor said to wait 5 to 7 days before getting them removed. Her head looked like it was healing up just fine and I didn't want to risk the skin growing around the staples. We decided for Family Night we'd play doctor.   Doctor Brad decided it wouldn't hurt to put a little numbing cream on the head before the procedure. We also let her watch a youtube video of a man getting his removed so that she'd know what was going on. 

The anticipation of the removal was far more traumatizing than the actual removal. 

 (That's not blood it's the medicine Brad put on.)

She has a little scar but unless you look in her hair for it you'd never know.

Natalie said, "I never want to have to get staplers again."  Hopefully, that's motivation to be more careful. :)

Two staples and she's back to "normal". I love that she and Camille keep referring to the staples as staplers.  "Nattie has staplers in her head because of her bonk!"

Better late than never

One month ago (July 3) was Brad's brother Ryan's birthday. We're SO excited to have him and his wife living in New York now. Since they are still living in a hotel without an oven, we figured it was our duty to make Ryan a birthday cake. Natalie decided that Uncle Ryan wanted needed a caterpillar cake. So the creating began and with "help" from the girls it turned out pretty good.

Stay tuned Camille's birthday is next week and there's sure to be another fun cake headed our way.
